Silk Painting for Christmas Giving

These classes are for artists and non-artists alike
to create beautiful wearable art and home decor. Techniques include shibori, itajime, using resists, colorhue dyes--no steaming! $75 plus materials ($25 covers 5 items; scarves, pillow cases, or fat quarters).

Sunday Oct 30, 2011, 10-1:
cost $55 including materials
Create wonderful patterns by printing with found and natural objects, a technique that can be used for scarves, clothing, pillows, table runners and more.
Sunday Oct 30, 2011 1-4 pm:
Cost: $55 including materials.
Use a Japanese tie dying technique called Shibori to create 3 beautiful scarves.
Sunday Nov 6, 2011 1-4 pm:
Cost: $55 including materials
Use a water soluble resist for a batik like effect to create images on silk.
September 2011
1. September 11th Introduction: Shibori (like the scarf you may have tried on at the festival or at Saturday Market), and a simple resist that I have used with first graders.
2. September 18th Serti and a technique something like watercolor painting, the techniques I use in my silk paintings amd to put images on the scarves
3. September 25th Printing and stenciling on silk, techniques I have been using less often and plan to use more.
These will be 3 hour workshops
