Market Stories: Heron Scarf

I'm back at Saturday Market on Vashon! I love being at the market. Every one who stops by my booth has a story of some one or some place they love. Some of the stories will live in my heart forever, like this one:

It was the heron in flight that attracted her. The scarf was folded among the $49 15" x 60" scarves on the table. "I'll take it! " she said. I spread it out to package it for her. OOps! It was one of my 35" square scarves! On the bottom, another heron stood at the water's edge, with Mt Rainier in the background.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," I said. "This one is $65."

Her daughter looked over her shoulder. "We can see Mt Rainier from our house on Maury Island, and  a heron often fishes on the beach below our house."

"I don't care about the price" said the older woman. "I'll take it!"

Heron prints and cards are now available in my etsy shop!
